FAQ

What do I do / How does it work?

SUP Yoga DSM's SUP yoga class is a total of 90 minutes. We'll meet at the location (map and descriptions below and on the booking page) where each participant will be checked in, and assigned a board, paddle, anchor, pfd, and whistle.

The instructor will be taking photos throughout class, a photo release is included on the safety waiver. The photos will be available at no charge on the SUP Yoga DSM Facebook page. All photos will be organized by class date and time, we will not tag or identify participants in any way.

Age Requirements

Participants must be at least 14 attending WITH a parent or guardian, 16 with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian, 18 with no restrictions.

Class Breakdown

15 minutes - Paddle technique, safety and a short paddle around the area

60 minutes - Custom yoga flow based on the number of participants, skill level and abilities. The instructor will determine the best place to anchor and will instruct each participant to do so.

15 minutes - Playtime! Want to try an inversion we didn't get to in class? Or perfect one that you almost had? Now is the time to try as well as take any other requested photos.

What do I wear?

Dress to your comfort level and appropriate for the weather forecast, but most people wear what they would wear to a yoga class on land. Swimsuits are absolutely acceptable, but not required.

Will I fall in / get wet?

Maybe! Probably! We'll walk the boards into the water, so at the very least, you will be in water up to your ankles for a few minutes.

The yoga flow is adjusted and modified for more stability on the paddleboard, however, your own balance, flexibility, and willingness to challenge yourself will all affect your experience on -- or off -- the board.

What happens if there's bad weather?

In the event of severe weather, the instructor will determine if class will go on no later than 1 hour before the class' start time. Participants will be able to reschedule at no cost.

If severe (lightning, wind at 15+ mph) weather occurs DURING class, the instructor will immediately evacuate the water and reschedule class
